Amendments to Regulation 1599 – Coin & Bullion – CA DEPT. OF TAX & FEE ADMIN.

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) would like to announce that the Office of Administrative Law approved the CDTFA’s amendments to Sales and Use Tax Regulation 1599, Coins and Bullion. The amendments to Regulation 1599 increase the threshold amount for sales of monetized bullion, nonmonetized gold or silver bullion, and numismatic coins to be “bulk sales” that are exempt from sales and use tax from $1,500 to $2,000 beginning January 1, 2023.
