This part-time position is a great opportunity to share the wonders of ranch life with visiting youth and adults. Our Ranch Educators lead science-based tours of a working ranch with hands-on learning about where some of our food and clothing fiber comes from, interact with, and learn about ranch animals, predator and prey, explore plants, pollinators, and food in our garden, and plant a seedling to take home to nurture.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot – the 4R’s concept – is intrinsic to our ranch tour promoting environmental stewardship as a program takeaway.
General duties:
- Leading groups on educational ranch tours and during seasonal day camps.
- Lead chore volunteer groups of mixed ages.
- Collect general participant data and waivers from visiting groups.
- Some weekend events: public days, birthday parties, club groups & tours, volunteers.
- Cleaning and general care for animals, stalls, and gardens.

- Comfortable around ranch/farm animals
- Open to an adapting, changing environment
Physical needs
- Physically fit; able to walk on an incline and fill & push a loaded wheelbarrow.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
