Coastside News | Publisher’s Assistant

 

 

Responsibilities

As a Publisher’s Assistant, you will play a vital and dynamic role, adapting to the needs of the publisher in various areas including sales administration, event staffing, marketing, and general administration. Your duties will include:

• Providing first-line customer support, assisting our readers with their inquiries.

• Posting approved stories to the website.

• Picking up and scanning mail once a week.

• Staffing community events such as farmers markets.

• Assisting in the management of printed publication distribution.

• Selling and facilitating advertising.

A passion for supporting quality local journalism is essential.

Work Hours, Compensation, and Benefits

Work Hours: This position can be either full-time (30-40 hours) or part-time (15-29 hours) with semi-remote working arrangements.

Compensation: Pay starts at $22 per hour.

Location: Applicants must reside on or near the Coastside and be able to travel to the post office and attend occasional local events.

Reporting: The Publisher’s Assistant will report directly to the Publisher.

• Strong communication skills.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma required.

• College degree preferred.
