The City of Half Moon Bay has posted its newly updated draft of the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP) Phase 1 on the City’s website. This draft is focused on Climate Action, outlining a roadmap for creating new programs, services, and policies that will support our community in taking actions that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
CAAP Phase 1 is designed to be a blueprint of our community’s response to challenges posed by climate change and is a living document that reflects the ongoing efforts and challenges our community faces as the impacts from climate change grow more frequent, severe, and urgent. Our city cannot solve the climate crisis alone. CAAP Phase 1 documents how Half Moon Bay plans to collaborate with our partners in county, state, and federal governments, along with community organizations and local businesses. The August, 2023 draft includes changes to the City’s approach related to industrial natural gas emissions and clarifies suggested measures related to residential natural gas emission reduction strategies.
Any questions or comments should be directed to Veronika Vostinak at [email protected] or 650-750-2019 before September 19, 2023 2023, which is the end of the public comment period for this draft document. Following that, a final draft is anticipated to be considered by the City Council by the end of this year.
