The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative has awarded $1 million to San Mateo County to build affordable housing for local agricultural laborers in Half Moon Bay, according to a release from the county issued last week.
The funding is intended to help develop below-market-rate housing on 880 Stone Pine Road, next to the city of Half Moon Bay’s corporation yard. Staff from the city and county are working together on the design. The conceptual plan calls for up to 50 detached single-family manufactured homes with parking, open space, and recreational amenities.
