Join us for  THE SECOND ANNUAL BEACH BREAK ENTERTAINMENT FILM FESTIVAL – three fun-filled days of film, music, conversation and culture.

COASTAL REPERTORY THEATRE – 1167 Main Street, Half Moon Bay, CA

We are thrilled to announce the return of the Beach Break Entertainment Film Festival to the breathtaking Half Moon Bay coast for its second year!
Presented by Recology of the Coast, this year’s festival promises three days of captivating films, engaging discussions, live music, free family events and memorable experiences against the stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.

Against the backdrop of prison overcrowding and widespread drug use, the 50 documents the unprecedented journey of 50 men who challenged society’s expectations of them to become certified substance abuse counselors while incarcerated.
Q & A following with Brenton Gieser, Director/Producer, Cameron Clark (ED of DOVE), and other cast members, moderated by Will Stoller-Lee (ED of TDB Family Foundation).

Free Screening, performance and lunch!  Screening followed by a thirty-minute special presentation by members of the Coastside Community Orchestra and a free lunch catered by Spangler’s Market Catering.
Philharmonia Fantastique: The Making of the Orchestra is a 25-minute multi-media concerto from Mason Bates, composer of the Grammy Award-winning opera The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, in collaboration with Oscar-winning director and sound designer Gary Rydstrom, and animation director Jim Capobianco. The animated film flies through the orchestra’s instruments to explore the fundamental connections between music, sound, performance, creativity, and technology, all the while creating harmony within diversity.

1:30 PM: SOUL OF THE OCEAN • 54 min.

Soul of the Ocean is easily one of the best undersea documentaries and eye candy to the senses. Director Howard Hall and his wife, producer Michele Hall, have created a thrilling, beautiful, educational, and hopeful. While most nature documentaries focus on the drama of predation, here, the Halls emphasize how undersea creatures relate to each other by examining group behavior, symbiosis, and ecosystems. – Andy Howell

This important film reveals how unjust practices forged our current farm system in which farmers of all colors are dying to feed us. The film profiles a hopeful and uplifting movement of white, black, and indigenous farmers who are using alternative “regenerative” models of agriculture that could balance the climate, save our health, and stabilize America’s economy — before it’s too late.
