Senator Josh Becker | Virtual Town Hall – Teacher Housing – Mar. 20th

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Join me on March 20th for a conversation with the leaders in our community who are changing that:

  • Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian championed 110 teacher housing units that are currently being built in Palo Alto, as well as an additional 257 that have been approved for a site in Cupertino.
  •  Jefferson Union High School District Trustee Kalimah Salahuddin was instrumental in getting 122 below-market-rate apartments built and occupied for teachers and staff in her school district.
  • David McLain, of the San Mateo County Community College District, knows first-hand about the benefits of living in one of the District’s 134 teacher housing units – as a former resident of College Vista and Cañada Vista, he and his wife were able to save enough to eventually buy a home.
  • And Gina Sudaria, Superintendent of the Ravenswood City School District, orchestrated the re-imagining of a former school site in Menlo Park to be used for 80 to 90 affordable teacher housing units.
