Alchemist, Apostate, Amateur Detective
You’ve undoubtedly heard about Isaac Newton and his apple, but did you know he was a stealthy sleuth who tracked down counterfeiters in the sordid backstreets of London? Or that he was a hidden Christian apostate, the only professor at Cambridge University of his day who refused to become an ordained minister as (typically) required?
About Philip Chapnick
I have been a collector since I was nine years old. With an avid interest in the history and philosophy of science and mathematics, I was naturally drawn to Isaac Newton, and for the past 30 years I have been building a small collection of material related to his life and work. For me, sharing a collection is integral to its value and so I am very much looking forward to sharing this collection with my friends and neighbors.
