“This is a reminder to submit written comments on the Regulatory Alignment Concept Paper (Concept Paper) by 5:00PM PST July 31, 2024. All comments should be sent via email to: [email protected].
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is working with Crowe LLP and their partner, Blankinship & Associates, (collectively, Crowe) to conduct a regulatory alignment study, in coordination with California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) and the State Water Resources Control Board (Water Boards), to evaluate and identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and optimize information collected by the state.
The Concept Paper, released in May 2024, outlines Crowe’s initial proposals for streamlining agriculture-related food safety and water quality reporting requirements. Informed by a broad range of interviews and feedback, the proposals presented in the Concept Paper serve as a foundation for gathering feedback and are not final recommendations.
Feedback on the Concept Paper will help Crowe further identify streamlining opportunities, including process improvements and technological enhancements. In 2025, interested parties will be able to review and provide comments on Crowe’s recommendations.
For more information including a Concept Paper Executive Summary and the ability to register for informational sessions or watch recordings of previous webinars, visit the study website at: https://www.cdfa.ca.gov/RegulatoryAlignment.”
