Starting December 11 and continuing through the end of the month, there will be geotechnical site testing related to the proposed senior farmworker affordable housing development at 555 Kelly Avenue. Much of this exploratory work will take place in the parking lot at the Ted Adcock Community Center and will include soil testing and boring. If you are in the vicinity of this work, please be cautious and watch for trucks, equipment, and workers. The contractor will minimize any traffic impacts while they perform their work.
This activity is taking place as Mercy Housing, in partnership with ALAS (Ayudando Latinos A Soñar), works toward completing necessary pre-development milestones. The project is currently under staff review and is anticipated to reach the Planning Commission for consideration of approval in 2024. As proposed, the building will include 40 affordable rental units and a resource center intended to provide support services. For additional information about the project, including design renderings and plans, please visit the project webpage at www.hmbcity.com/555kelly, where you can also sign up to receive email updates. Mercy Housing also has a project page located at www.555kelly.org.
