8am to 5pm

Pescadero High School

We are a group of farmworkers, in partnership with Puente de la Costa Sur and Coastside Hope, organizing a Farmworkers Convention on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 8am to 5pm at Pescadero High School. At this event there will be several workshops of interest to farmworkers, with topics such as Pesticides, CPR and First Aid, Labor Rights, Immigration Law, Workplace Safety and more.

We will have speakers and panels of farmworkers who will share their stories, challenges, and dreams and their priorities for them and their families.

The event will be carried in Spanish. The opening session, panels and closing sessions will have interpretation to English available. Interpretation to other languages will be possible if we receive the registration with the specific request in a timely manner.

We will also invite various organizations and partners to provide information and resources relevant to farmworkers in a resource fair. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner and music to end the day, and childcare will be provided. Transportation will be provided from some areas if we receive a request in a timely manner.

We will be inviting elected officials and other partners to the opening and closing sessions.

We expect 200 farmworkers to participate on a day of inspiration and action for farmworkers rights and advocacy.

If you are a farmworker in Pescadero, Half Moon Bay, Davenport, Santa Cruz or Watsonville, this event is for you! This is a free event.
