Two San Mateo County parks are set to have a new fire fuel reduction tool to burn wooden debris and fallen trees sometime in the spring of 2024.
The San Mateo County Parks Department announced in late October that it intended to use air curtain burners in Memorial and Pescadero Creek parks. The intent with the projects is to lessen wildfire risks in the area and is being done in collaboration with Cal Fire and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, according to a release from the county.
