Among the flurry of bills signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom last month was one that establishes new policies for online camping reservations at State Parks and beaches.

The idea is to make camping accessible to more Californians by reducing last-minute cancellations and no-shows that can result in sought-after sites going empty.
