Sea Crest School | 2nd Grade Teacher

 

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Maintain a safe, student-centered learning environment. Guide whole class, small group, and individualized instruction in reading, writing, word study, social studies, and social-emotional learning. Regularly monitor and assess student learning and growth to inform instruction using a variety of tools and means.
  • Curriculum Design: Plan a comprehensive, integrated curriculum that aligns with the school mission and grade-level learning goals. Craft thoughtful, engaging units of study designed to address the different learning styles of students in the class.
  • Collaboration: Work with grade-level colleagues to ensure integration across subject areas. Consistently and clearly communicate with colleagues, administrators, and parents regarding student progress and any student issues.

Requirements:
We are looking for an inspired and student-centered educators with a Bachelor’s degree. Teaching credential or Master’s degree preferred. Experience and training in Writers’ Workshop and/or Project Based Learning is desirable. This person must have a current First Aid, AED and age-appropriate CPR certification. A Bachelor’s degree would be a plus. All employees undergo fingerprinting through Live Scan.
