Job Summary
The Career Technical Education (CTE) Internship Coach focuses on building youth development partnerships with high school students to create a solid foundation in the workforce through case management services; job coaching/mentorship and access to supported employment opportunities; resource procurement and advocacy. The coach will work closely with the Program Manager, program staff, volunteers, and industry partners to create a safe and engaging environment that supports the career readiness and personal and social growth of young individuals. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, a commitment to youth empowerment, and a commitment to preparing youth for skills to transition from high school to post-secondary education and careers.

Key Responsibilities
Case Management (50%)
Provide ongoing case management services, including regular check-ins, progress monitoring, and goal updates.
- Responsible for managing a caseload of up to 30 high school students, by monitoring weekly timesheets, conducting individual assessments, providing collaborative and individual job coaching, and developing individual goals geared toward completing the CTE internship e-portfolio requirement.
- Conduct college and career readiness assessments to identify the strengths, needs, and goals of program participants.
- Assist participants in developing essential career readiness skills, such as problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
- Develop individualized CTE internship work plans in collaboration with participants, setting achievable objectives.
Documentation & Reporting (30%)
Maintain accurate records of program activities, including attendance, participant progress, and incidents.
- Attend weekly internship program review meetings, participant field visits, and agency meetings as required.
- Prepare regular reports on internship outcomes, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Regularly assess participant progress towards established goals, making adjustments to work plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data privacy regulations.
- Prepare reports on participant outcomes and program effectiveness, contributing to internship program evaluation and improvement.
Service Coordination (20%)
Advocate for internship participants and navigate systems on their behalf to overcome barriers and access resources.
- Collaborate with industry partners, service providers, and schools to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Collaborate with program staff, volunteers, and other Team Leads to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to participant support.
- Identify and connect internship participants to appropriate support services, such as counseling, education, healthcare, and housing assistance.
This position runs for 46 weeks (September 2024-June 2025) and requires in-person work in Half Moon Bay, CA.
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in youth development and/or community organizing.
- Ability to work with a high volume of administrative tasks/paperwork.
- Demonstrated capacity to work with high school students and adults from communities of color and low-income communities.
- Previous experience in case management, preferably working with high school students or in a related job coaching setting.
- Knowledge of youth development, trauma-informed, and strength-based approaches.
- Familiarity with community resources and services for youth.

- Computer literate in Mac platform and google suite (gmail, gdrive, gcal, gdocs, gsheets), and the capacity to quickly learn new technology.
- Commitment to social justice, public health, and community organizing as strategies to affect change.
- Commitment to actively dismantling systemic racism, and to continuously deepening your own understanding of intersecting oppressions, including anti-Blackness, colorism, ageism, and gender inequities.
- Approaches young people in a manner that reflects they are whole and powerful, in a way that amplifies their voices and honors their perspectives.
- Able to work some evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Capacity to communicate effectively via email, phone, and video call.
- Sitting and typing required for several hours per day.
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs, to handle media equipment or promotional materials.
- Frequent local travel, and occasional in-state travel required.
