About Us: The mission of Senior Coastsiders is to support successful aging for older adults in our San Mateo County Coastside community. We provide a range of services and programs to support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our participants. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team and contribute to our mission.

Job Summary: The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will provide comprehensive mental health and social services to older adults at Senior Coastsiders. The LCSW will be responsible for assessing the needs of older adults, providing counseling, developing care plans, and connecting members with community resources. This role requires a deep understanding of the challenges faced by older adults and a commitment to improving their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of older adults’ mental health and social needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to older adults.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, family members, and community resources to ensure holistic care.
  • Facilitate support groups and educational workshops for older adults and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of older adults.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in geriatric social work.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the Coast.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid LCSW license in California.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with the older adult population.
  • Strong understanding of geriatric mental health issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
  • Excellent computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a senior center or similar community setting.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and services for the elderly.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish or Chinese) are a plus.
