Art and literacy matter. The Coastside has stories to tell, and Coastal Lit helps make that happen.

Coastal Lit has a number of programs it’s already producing:

• We’re launching a news podcast in conjunction with the HMB Review, Coastside News Group and KHMB Radio;
• We are underwriting an independent theater project;
• We’re helping to publish a book inspired by a crowd-sourced community poetry project;
• We sponsor the Speakers’ Space at Make It Main Street;
• And we’re working with local schools to launch public journalism and storytelling projects.

These projects are part of a larger vision to spark imagination, fun and storytelling on the Coastside.  We love language, and we believe education and literacy are our ticket to a better future.
