San Mateo – Residents are invited to share their needs in four key areas at a newly scheduled listening session this Thursday, Aug. 24, in San Mateo.
The session will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at College Park Elementary School, Multi-Purpose Room, 715 Indian Ave., San Mateo. (Google map link.)
This is an opportunity for residents to help influence how local Measure K tax dollars will be allocated in four key areas: Housing and Homelessness, Emergency Preparedness, Children and Families and Mental Health.
The County is conducting a series of listening sessions to hear directly from residents.
For those unable to attend, an online survey is available in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Tagalog through Friday, Aug. 25.

- North Fair Oaks: Tuesday (Aug. 22), 6 to 7:30 p.m., Fair Oaks Community Center, 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City. Facilitated in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, English.
- South San Francisco: Wednesday (Aug. 23), 6 to 7:30 p.m., Fernekes Building at Orange Park, 781 Tennis Drive. Facilitated in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, English.
- San Mateo: Thursday (Aug. 24), 715 Indian Ave., San Mateo. Facilitated in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, English.
- Daly City: Friday (Aug. 25), 1:30 to 3 p.m., Doelger Center, Westlake Park, 101 Merced Blvd., Daly City. Facilitated in Tagalog, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, English.
Following the conclusion of the listening sessions and the closure of the survey, staff will analyze the results and present the information to the Board of Supervisors and the public this fall.
Supervisors are then expected to consider a spending plan this fall utilizing Measure K funds. Measure K is a half-cent, voter-approved sales tax that provides local funds for local needs.
