We invite musicians of all ages who play brass, woodwind or percussion instruments, to come and join our band; The Half Moon Bay “Sit-Down” Marching Band. (This essentially is the town band of Half Moon Bay.)
For over 4+ decades, a local group of amateur musicians have banded together once a year to perform at Half Moon Bay’s Good Ole Fashioned Independence Day Parade. We will be playing patriotic music again on Independence Day, July 4, 2023. We sit and play at Kelly & Main Streets as the parade passes by. We start playing at 11:30 AM and finish a few minutes after the parade ends.
This really is a musical workout and a lot of fun. In years past, we’ve had up to 50+ musicians performing. We always draw an appreciative audience.
We do ask that the musician attends at least two of the four or five rehearsals we will be scheduling. There is a charge of $20.00 per package of music that will be paper mailed to the musician. We also ask that the musician (and maybe you) have rudimentary skills, an instrument, a music stand and a high enthusiasm level!
All we can guarantee is a good time for the musician and a great feeling of community spirit.
